I need to move my arm before the Ripple reaches my microphone!
Phantom Blood goes out strong. Sitting back and reflecting on it gives us real appreciation for the amazing production staff did throughout the show. Also, wearing Zeppeli’s hat does not make Speedwagon Zeppeli, and Funny Valentine needs to stop marrying himself. That’s just silly.
As we approach the end, we start back at the beginning with nothing but Mozzarella to keep us company. Rella rella rella rella rella rella rella rella rella rella rella rella. Then the Gorgonzola. Zola zola zola.
A wonderful year 25 of JoJo’s passes us by. We’re still riding high on The Animation and the upcoming Battle Tendency, but it’s time to close out this small podcast series. And who doesn’t like roadtrips? We get our finale in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part VII: Steel Ball Run.
And that’s it. Our little podcast retrospective is done. When we started, this was going to be all there was to JoJo’s Year before all the other news exploded out. It’s been a great year for the fandom with how good the anime has been, All-Star Battle to still look forward to, fan works like DUWANG subs. Seeing JoJo’s blossom out in so many directions this past year has been so much fun.
It can be difficult or impossible to say something serious in the podcast because it isn’t a serious venue by any stretch, so I want to take a moment to say how seriously fun it was to do this. Getting to read JoJo’s is already some of the most fun manga reading I’ve ever gotten to do, and just having someone to sit around with and basically go, “You remember that cool part?” “Yeah!” “YEAH!” just helped solidify how much I enjoyed it. It really brings out the kid in me in the way that shonen rarely does anymore and getting to feel that same excitement that I had when I was a little kid talking about anime shows to my nerdy friends where we’d imagine having our own powers to fly around and shoot lasers. Sometimes a show or a manga or whatever just has to be fun to watch, and JoJo’s has that in spades.
If you’ve listened to any of the JoJo’s Podcasts, I hope that our ramblings have made you check out this amazing series. If you haven’t been listening, I hope this last little recommendation gets you to try and read some ,or maybe introduce a friend to it so you can sit around trying to figure out stuff like what the power of “Princes of the Universe” would be. Start them off easy with Phantom Blood. Or don’t and throw them into the insanity of the most recent JoJolion. Show them the Stardust Crusaders OVAs from ’93 to give them a sample taste. Watch an episode of The Animation with them, DUWANG optional. It doesn’t really matter where you start. Don’t take it too seriously. Just have fun with it.
GMX Vol. 4 has come and gone, but that won’t stop us from talking around it while also talking about how I did ok at Tempest and making references to Flight of the Conchords. Also, this podcast will teach you absolutely nothing about how lasers are made. GMX was fun though.
Everything about The Animation was building to Josuke vs. Highway Star, but this is also pretty nice.

So yeah, it’s time for “OPJ’s Bizarre Podcast! Part 6: Look at All These Livers!”
It’s finally time. We’ve been hit with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: The Animation and it’s better than we could have ever hoped. Style savvy studio working around a crappy budget makes the source material and its fans proud.
Alternatively:
The times ov arivall is heer! The Strange Journey of Joey JOjo belongs with my attack and has quality were we dint put it. Fashion intelligent animationers work for moneyless drawing makes the originalp rideful happy and enjoyment group.
On the rise to become the ultimate Gang Star, the outfits will be more fabulous than you could have ever imagined!
JoJo’s Year continues with Hirohiko Araki saying “Fuck it,” and finally writing a story about Italy. Vento Aureo! Or Ogan no Kaze! Or Golden Wind. They all mean the same thing. See, JoJo’s is educational about languages and fashion sense.
What a beautiful morning! What a beautiful Ducast!
It returns with the best part yet! Diamond is not Crush! Or Diamond is Unbreakable because that doesn’t sound as Engrish. Not that you’ll be lacking for translation problems or anything. It’s ok, someone explodes a motorcycle. You’ll be fine.
Not exactly treading new ground here, but when everyone does a show and calls it bad, it makes you wonder how bad it really is. Also, someone told me about it coincidentally. It’s Tomino’s shame, Garzey’s Wing.
