Lupin III Live Action Trailer #1

Posted in Videos with tags , , , , , , on 2014/04/25 by OnePixelJumpMan

They are going a long way in this trailer to make this look like a Hollywood blockbuster action movie. Every shot just oozes that, as does the music. I’d say kicking that gun out of that guy’s hands is probably the height of it. I’m not bothered, but I hope this is just trailer pull and that the movie will be a little lighter in tone. I think that suits the character better.

Lupin III will be out August 30th.

And someone was nice enough to put it on YouTube. Now you don’t have to follow the link to see a bunch of text as Senketsu reads it at you. The text basically goes, “Shinra Koketsu is strong, and humanity is in a pinch, but so is Trigger. Can Trigger give us the good ending? Good luck Imaishi et. al.” Hey, it’s the finale. I understand if they don’t want to show us anything before shit gets real for something like the 14th or so time.

Your Subs, I’ll Be Their Judge! Jotaro Kujo Special PV and All Stardust Crusaders PVs Subbed!

Posted in Anime Seasons, JoJo's Year, Spring 2014, Videos with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on 2014/03/22 by OnePixelJumpMan

I don’t need to say anything, right? It’s Jotaro, it’s totally sweet, he’s totally sweet. Watching Star Platinum punching the shit out of Hierophant Green’s face was great. And you even get to see it with subs. If you’d like to see it clean, you can though the main site.

But as an added benefit for those that would like subs, the channel that did these, Joestar Journal, has all the trailers subbed. Have at it.

Stardust Crusaders Anime Composer Yuugo Kanno Announced!

Posted in Anime Seasons, JoJo's Year, Spring 2014, Videos with tags , , , , , on 2014/03/18 by OnePixelJumpMan

This news has been a long time coming. With davidproduction’s decision to have a new composer for each Part, who gets to be that composer sets a huge precedent for the tone of the series. Our draw this time is a Mr. Yuugo Kanno. He’s done a few shows including the recent popular Psycho Pass and a show I thought was pretty good Birdy the Mighty: Decode where the above comes from. The main theme has this upbeat, somewhat jazzy feel with the saxophone, and the other is a little more what I’d expect from a fighting show.

That said:

A lot of his music is more of this somber style. It is good, but not very Part 3. But that probably speaks to his range more than anything, and the trailer musics are probably his and was pretty good. So I think we’re in good hand this time.

Stardust Crusaders OP Song “Stand Proud” by Jin Hashimoto Announced and Release Date!

Posted in Anime Seasons, JoJo's Year, Spring 2014, Text Articles, Videos with tags , , , , , , , on 2014/03/18 by OnePixelJumpMan

The Stardust Crusaders Anime OP has been announced! And only announced in this little magazine page. The singer for the song “Stand Proud” is going to be Jin Hashimoto.

By getting the guy who did one ED and five insert songs for Kamen Rider Kuuga, these two inserts for Kamen Rider Agito, and a bunch of other Rider songs, I think they might be going for a certain sound. The little blurb mentions something about making it something of a Jotaro image song. I wonder how that’ll work out.

Also, the full version of the song will be released pretty early on. Wednesday, April 23rd. I think we can bank on that that there will probably be more than one OP. Maybe the second one will be about Dio.

Kill la Kill Episode 23 “Imitation Gold” 30 Second PV

Fight Club Mako, Fight Club Mako, Fight Club Mako, Fight Club Mako, Fight Club Mako, Fight Club Mako… And so on. I’m sure other things also happen in this PV like the final battle with Ragyo starting up there, the Big Four getting their uniforms back, Aikurou doing something with the pink glowing and all, but you have to keep your priorities straight. Fight Club Mako, and so on.

Kill la Kill episode 22 “Tell Me How You Really Feel” 30 Second PV

Encroaching on the end. That’s pretty much the entire preview. Nui isn’t dead, which I don’t think anyone really thought she was.  Most of this episode seems like it’s going to be building up to the final charge against that giant flying ball of space yarn. Most of the non-kamui characters seem to be getting their own fiber shredder, which would be something if those hadn’t been made obsolete within 2 minutes of them coming into existence. No, this episode is going to be mostly buildup even with Nui having both scissor swords. The biggest thing I’m guessing is going to come from Ryuko kneeling in front of all those covers and Satsuki and maybe others will save her giving her the final piece of solidarity. Sounds a bit standard, yeah, but if someone gets punched into a wall or something, it’ll be fine.
