SRW Z3 Tengoku Hen PV 1

There is no such thing as too much robot action!

Alright it’s time for the ultimate super robot wars experience. I have never seen animation like this before in an SRW game. Some of the action looks just outright drawn and the moves look more forceful and smooth than ever before. During this PV there were times that I just sat there in awe. Most of the robot favorites will be returning in this, including but not limited to:

UC Gundams

Getter Robo Armageddon

Aim for the Ace: Gunbuster

Dancouga/Dancouga Nova

Full Metal Panic/Fumoffu/The Books

Armor Trooper Votoms

And many many more.

It’s actually really impressive what they are doing here because it seems that the roster is staying about the same in terms of size, but the fight animations are just getting a complete overhaul. They are really pushing the graphics on this one. This looks like it will truly be the best Banpresto can make so I’m more than looking forward to it.

Super Robot Wars Z3 Tengoku-Hen will be released April 2.

Still waiting for ASB. We all want it to get here as soon as possible, but also want as long as possible for more characters to be announced. How many of you have put in a preorder? How many of you managed to get the extremely transient Gold Experience Box with the gold plate Araki sketch and the Jotaro figure? Yes, just the Jotaro figure.

I was wondering how they were going to get out both the Jotaro and Dio figure. I didn’t notice it at the time, but if you look back on the ASB commercial with Terrence, it only displays the Jotaro one. The Dio one is going to be released separately by Banpresto around the time of ASB’s launch in late August. On top of that, the official posting on the Araki-JoJo site says something about it being “an amusement exclusive prize” while also not listing a price. My Japanese isn’t too strong, but it looks like that might mean these are going to be part of a giveaway and not just regularly for sale, at least not at first. So if you’re looking to get the full Dio on Jotaro All Star Figure vs. Set, you may be in store for a lot of extra waiting.

You can follow Banpresto’s JoJo figure releases at their official page for JoJo figures (they’re also the ones that make the PASSIONE line.) It links to the PrizeBP page for store tracking where you can look up stores that will have the figure you want listed according to your region of Japan. If you know someone who can buy you stuff directly from Japan, I’d let them know about this. Good thing we’ve met someone like that in the past, huh?

Super Robot Wars UX Trailer! Vocaloid has Robots?

Posted in Dancouga, Gundam, Mazinger, Super Robots with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 2012/12/12 by OnePixelJumpMan

This is how I imagine it is at the Banpresto conference table: “2nd Super Robot Wars Original Generation? That was like a week ago. It’s old news. It’s time for the next one.” And it is time for Super Robot Wars UX on 3DS.

It may not seem like a whole lot after the incredible animations we got from OG 2, but I like a few of the faces we’re seeing. I only can’t identify the second one and ninth. The lion face on number two makes me want to say Voltron/Go Lion, but I’m not sure. The rest of the video goes as follow:

  1. Aura Battler Dunbine
  2. Gundam SEED Destiny
  3. Macross Frontier
  4. Linebarrels of Iron
  5. Dancouga Nova
  6. Fafner in the Azure
  7. Demonbane
  8. Superior Defender Gundam Force
  9. Mazinkaiser SKL
  10. Vocaloid??
  11. Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer
  12. Heroman

The cast looks all right. I was one of the few people that was ok with Mazinkaiser SKL, so seeing it in Super Robot Wars is ok by me. Linebarrels of Iron started off ok, but it got really garbage as it went on. Hopefully, they’ll mute that and just let it have lasers and stuff. Oh, and if you visited it and read it, yes Demonbane was an eroge at one point. I really hope that doesn’t make it in considering the buxomness SRW sometimes dips into.

But the big weird one is Vocaloid. I’ve made jokes about not knowing what Vocaloid is, but this time I really mean it. Does Vocaloid have robots? It’s a voice synthesizer, right? Why, what? I’m legitimately lost on this one. I was once told that because Vocaloid doesn’t really have a story being a tool and not a story, everything is canon even the stuff that contradicts the other stuff. I guess someone was playing with it at Banpresto one day and they just went, “You know what? Super Robot. What the hell?” I guess it’s going to kick ass with the power of song. Maybe that’s why it’s Macross Frontier and not Macross 7 Dynamite.

2nd Super Robot Wars OG First Videos.

With all this Jojo’s news going around lately, It’s almost like we’ve forgotten about our favorite super robot genre. Can’t have any of that, so I’m glad to announce that 2nd Super Robot Wars Original Generations has been released today.

As some of you may know, the Original Generations was a spin off series made entirely about the original characters that Banpresto has made in the Super Robot Wars series. It was basically Banpresto saying, “Liscense Getter Robo? Nah. We have all the robots we need.”

A lot of important headliners are returning for OG2 including personal favorite Kyosuke Nanbu (voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa) piloting his Alt Eisen.

I don’t think anything will ever top the way he segues into Revolver Bunker a the end.

With the game released today, we have a whole mess of new gameplay footage. Unfortunately, we can’t embed them because the site doesn’t have the code and they’re up to a massive 11 hours long. Each.

(Thanks to the Super Robot WarZ blog for the video links.)

These behemoth videos do have a lot of downtime in them, but they do show a large part of the game. Most gameplay aspects are kept intact, and the battle system works the same way as it did in OG Gaiden. But do you come to Super Robot Wars for the intense strategy? Well, maybe, but I think we can all get behind Banpresto’s awesome battle animations.

The best method of attack, never stop hitting the enemy.

This is the G Compatible Kaiser’s Rival, G Bankaran. He sure knows how to Fist of the North Star his way through a robot. It helps that he does it while holding the other robot up by the neck, making it even more awesome.

If you want to keep up with the all attacks videos that are sure to come out, you can follow their release at BassGSnewtype’s youtube channel.
