“Bloody Stream” by Coda [ENG]

Posted in Fanworks, JoJo's Year, Videos with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 2013/04/08 by OnePixelJumpMan

After a while, I stopped being surprised by the new Shut Up and JoJo remixes. Ok, maybe the one with “Roundabout” still caught me off guard, but still, it wasn’t that weird anymore. This, on the other hand, I would have never seen coming.

Yep, that’s an English version of the TV cut of “Bloody Stream.” It was done by this guy Y. Chang who apparently does this for anime songs. The English lyrics and vocals are by him, though the mixing was by the friend he did this on the behalf of. He’s got a few other ones under his belt on his YouTube channel. Also, you can also check out “Bloody Stream laid over the original opening sequence here at his Tumblr.

Lava Veins and Sun Lasers. ACDC and Caeser Zeppeli All Star Battle Preview Images

By seeing ACDC attacking with his lava vein tendrils, you’re seeing about half the way he attacks. With the exception of the just ejecting the lava blood from his body in a spray, his moves are either normal kicks and punches or hitting with the veins. The last one is part of his ultra and is based on the manga where he tried to hit Joseph with all of them at once. Not to say that it’s bad that ACDC is based around his primary weapon or anything….

It’s just that, as he must be compared to Caeser, ACDC isn’t bringing as much to the table in creative power usage. Caeser gets the Bubble Cutter, Bubble Lenses, and the big bubble trap as part of his Bubble Launcher power. I know it’s because ACDC only fought once and so only gets so many moves, but he comes off lacking. Also, Caeser’s jump seems to be based on how he gets in a chair. ACDC’s crying doesn’t have shit on that for style.

You can see the rest of the images over at Famitsu.

More Italy! More Bubbles! More Caeser Zeppeli!

You know, last time this happened, the characters on the sides swapped with the character on the front. It’s all right, Caeser’s way more important than ACDC. Still, you can see a little more of ACDC’s moves exercised on Joseph in his pictures. Lots of veins stabbing and some fire here and there. It’s mostly a new Caeser spread with more moves from the bubble gloves, though. Looks like he’ll have a move where he just covers the enemy in them and then maybe they explode.

That’s the second spread on these two, so I’m pretty sure the in depth article on it should be soon.

“Some Poses are Physically Impossible” Making of the JoJo’s Opening Sequences

Posted in JoJo's Year, Text Articles with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 2013/03/16 by OnePixelJumpMan

I’m glad they released this as a news article. It seems like the sort of thing that would be a Blu-ray extra, probably towards the last disc.

CGWorld has released an indepth look into the making of the Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency opening sequences. It’s a whole special about how it was made to the creative process behind certain chosen scenes. You even get to see Caeser’s motion points under his model.

There’s a lot of technical discussion, too. Plenty of information about what kinds of software were used to get the right effects. After Effects, Photoshop, certain video editors and all that. We get to get down to the grit of drawing a 2D scene and the layering of different parts of the drawing.

And that’s only a few of the steps

It’s cool to see where they had to get tricky with the models and lighting. There’s a whole section about the police shooting Dio scene and the difficulties of getting things like the lighting to work and playing with the models so they’d all function together. There’s even some things I would never guess. The arms that reach out for the Red Stone of Aja in the Part 2 sequence? Photoshopped picture of a real arm.

Still, the thing that caught my attention the most was Caeser’s pose when Joseph and he confront the Pillar Men on top of their rock.

Innocuous as this pose is for JoJo’s of all things, the article notes that this arm position is a little impossible for the human body. You can’t take it out, though, and swap it out for some pedestrian pose where his arms are just sort of around. Posing is part of “JoJo’s Charm” as they put it. So what do you do?

Break anatomy a little. It’s ok; this probably falls under the same position as Zoom Punch and Caeser’s able to do that because of the ripple. That or he’s a secret Pillar Man who already became an ultimate lifeform and is trying to stop the others because only one person can stand at the peak.

It’s a cool article. There are even more pictures, insights into the creative process, and weird models of characters they could recycle and probably make into an indie XBLA game.

I love the stretching boxes around the sound effects

Make sure and check out the full article here.

The Second All Star Battle Commercial will Bring You to Tears!

Posted in JoJo's Year, Videos with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 2013/03/15 by OnePixelJumpMan

I’m glad I read Part 3 so I know what’s going on when YES explodes all over the screen.

Ooo, a little gameplay footage of Caeser, ACDC, Joseph, and Wham. I like that Joseph gets his tommy gun, and I’m really interested to see how ACDC’s crying is going to enter into gameplay if only because I don’t know how you could make that a move. It’s got to be one of his heat moves, but I want to know what it does because that didn’t lead into a special move in the show or manga. Maybe it’s a distraction from the veins that are sneaking up behind you. It’s probably a counter.

It’s looking good so far, and I’m always up for watching Okuyasu getting clocked in the face. I wonder if, when we get to the end of this commercial battle between Terrence and Jotaro, it’ll be younger Joseph instead older Joseph helping Jotaro cheat.

[Musik] Previews Now Available

Posted in JoJo's Year, Text Articles with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on 2013/03/15 by OnePixelJumpMan

The JoJo Anime site has put up their official page for OST 2 [Musik]. Like with the Phantom Blood OST Future, this has a few quick snippets for previews. The current tracks you can preview are “oh please..” (Next Episode Preview Music) “Il mare eterno nella mia anima” and “Overdrive” (what I’ve been calling the “Comin’ Through Now” song.) It comes with a friendly reminder that the CD drops on March 29th, but also that it will come as a bonus with the Vol. 4 Blu-rays released on April 26th. Make sure and get it whichever way is best for you.

The Blood is so Hot, but The Bubbles are so Cool. Caeser and ACDC Revealed for All Star Battle!

Oh, hello. So there is time for more character reveals in ASB. Good, I need me some Bruno. For the time being, though, let’s fill out the Part 2 roster a little bit and get ACDC and Caeser. ACDC only has one move shot in there, an ultra with his boiling blood injection veins, but Caeser has a few more. You can see him covering ACDC in a cloud of bubbles and also using the bubble lenses to make a redirected beam of sunlight. Joseph’s also chillin’ in the corner. Not sure why, but he’s probably using Caeser as a way to distract ACDC from the ultra violet flashlight he’s about to jam in his spine. Actually, that would be interesting if ACDC gets a desperation/low health saving move where he’s a brain and then turns into Suzie Q or maybe possesses his opponent to make them punch themselves repeatedly.

Look forward to that inevitable Famitsu special where we’ll learn more.

JoJo’s The Animation Battle Tendency OST “Musik” Cover Art and Tracklist

Posted in JoJo's Year, Text Articles with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 2013/03/03 by OnePixelJumpMan

Friendly reminder from the guys over at SRWZ, the Battle Tendency OST [Musik] will be coming out on March 29th. We’ve now got a look at the album cover, and we also have a track listing. Directly quoted from them:

Tracklist:
1. WELCOME TO THE WORLD
2. Fields of fright
3. Day job
4. Deep curse song
5. Oh please..
6. Morning etude for Charlie
7. Take Cover
8. Rubicon
9. Pierrot Headroom
10. Small Soldier
11. Elephant Talk 1
12. Elephant Talk 2
13. I’m in control
14. Never Be Mine
15. Pain Just Like Strange Rain
16. Not Alone
17. Il mare eterno nella mia anima
18. Propaganda
19. Burning Colosseum
20. Avalon

I have no idea what music any of these track names correspond to, though “Il mare eterno nella mia anima” or “The Eternal Sea in my Soul” is probably Caeser’s Aria since the somber title is in Italian.

Just a few more weeks until you can revel in a new track. Look foward to it.

JOJO Royale Stage 7 End! Stage 8 GO!

Posted in JoJo's Year, Text Articles with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 2013/03/01 by OnePixelJumpMan

JoJo Royale Stage 7 “POP” has come to close. I hope someone got a foothold in the ad business because some of these are pretty fun. A lot of simple signs, but there’s plenty of creativity to go around. You can check out the whole collection of entries here at the Google Plus page, but let’s look at a few highlights.

I hope the one with the TV wins. The entries are great, and you couldn’t really use that as a sign in your store, but I really like the style and think it looks really cool.

Stage 7 closes and so we move on to JOJO Royale Stage 8: “QUIZ.” Sorry, but there’s no image for this one so far. QUIZ is one of the easier stages so far to enter and win. In the event page, a JoJo’s question will be asked randomly and you have to leave you answer as a comment as soon as possible. Only Japanese and English answers will be accepted. You cannot change your answer once you’ve submitted it either through editing or further comments. If you get an answer right and passed Stage 7, you get a point and pass to Stage 9, and, here’s the big one, you can pass to Stage 9 even if you haven’t been participating in JOJO Royale until now if you get TEN points. If you get three answers wrong, you get booted out of the competition and drop out of the race. The first comment with the correct answer closes the question, and that person gets the point.

I’m pretty sure the official event page means the Google Plus topic for Stage 8, but keep a look out on the main Google Plus page and the official JOJO Royale page just in case. According to a later official post, questions will typically be posted around lunchtime, but questions can be posted at any time. Account for when that will be for you according to your timezone, whenever around 11AM to probably 3PM in Japan is for you, so you can jump on the question as soon as possible. Remember, you’re pitting yourself against JoJo fans from across the world for the chance to win this.

The mural sized Steel Ball Run wallpaper from the JOJOmenon exhibit. The person with the most points at the end of the Stage wins. Wrack your brains and cram for your fabulous exam. Questions will be asked until March 19th, 8PM Japanese Standard Time.

Episode 21 “100 Against 2 Strategy” Teaser Images

Into the depths of the Pillar Man stronghold, but the big tough vampires get to go first.

“Oh, you’re a vampire. That’s so cute.”

“Joseph, we’re on a tight schedule, so if you could let me handle the gnat?”

Anyway, it’s time to face Cars and Wham for the last time.

With dry tears on our face and a fire in our hearts, we march forward to end the battle that created new enemies, stretches back through our family lines, and claimed a dear friend.

And what better way to honor the memory of Caeser than defeating his killer in greatest sport of civilization.

Vampire Horse Chariot Race

Yes. Yes! We’re at the next stop on the “Things in JoJo’s that need to be animated right now” train. I’ve been waiting on this fight to start since the anime started. I won’t tell you why if you don’t already know, but this is when things get crazy. Everything up to this point has been whatever compared to what we’re about to see. How do you feel about it, Joseph?

“I’m not touching you. I’m not touching you. I’m not touching you….”

As always, you can see more at Yaraon.
