Yozakura Quartet Hana No Uta PV 1 and 2

So some of you might know what Yozakura Quartet is. There was a full length show back in 2008 and an OVA series from 2010. I haven’t watched either, but recently the PVs for the new show were brought to my attention.

As you might be able to tell, what caught my eye was the fluid animation. It takes a lot of money to make a show look that good, and to my understanding that’s what the entirety of the OVAs looked like. You might want to take the videos with a grain of salt though. A large amount of the first PV is actually made of footage from the OVAs, though the second is entirely unique to Hana No Uta. That’s enough about the PVs though.

The plot is simple. A group of four high school student have magic powers. There are also demons…so the students punch them. I know the plot is more complex than that, but you can boil it down to that most basic element. For those of you that are curious, this has nothing to do with the previous series. Despite having the same characters, it is an entirely new story.

This is a Tatsunoko Productions property. They handled the OVA, but studio Nomad did the original show, so do know that there will be some notable differences with the change of studio. Now, as for the opening and ending themes, UNISON SQUARE GARDEN will be handling the opening theme and phatmans after school will be doing the ending theme. Here’s an example of their work repectively.

Both seem to have there own strengths and weaknesses. UNISON SQUARE GARDEN’s singer doesn’t really have a powerful voice for a shonen opening, but the music otherwise sounds fine, and Phatmans sounds more appropriate, if a little generic. One way or another, I look forward to the releases of the songs they come up with.

Dangan Ronpa Ending “Zetsubousei: Hero Chiryoyaku” by Soraru Full Version

That’s right, it’s finally come out. After over a month worth of delay, the full version of the Dangan Ronpa ending theme has finally arrived. It doesn’t necessarily change that much from verse to verse, and there’s little variation in the chorus, but it’s still a good song. Didn’t really expect them to work in a guiar solo, but it did sound pretty decent. The album is coming out in a few days, so look forward to being able to purchase it.
