“I’d Love to Marry You, but Being Down on Your Knee is a More Traditional Pose.”

This is a little too cool not to show off. Have you ever wanted to have a JoJo themed ceremony? You’re not alone. All of these are the welcome boards from weddings. Each one is a custom made board that the couple decided on so everyone could know how absolutely fabulous their weddings would be. I’d like to see those events, either the ceremony or the reception, just to make sure the clothes in the boards are what they actually wore. I can only assume.

There are a few more from the original Naver gallery. Also from there: If this is something you’d be interested in, there is a guy that does this, specifically the guy who did the first image you saw. His artist name is Enpitsu, and you can find his information and more of his work here.

Throw Together a JoJo’s Art Exhibit

Let’s go on a Naver harvest. I went digging and found a few JoJo galleries. This picture is from JoJomenon I believe and is grouped into a GUCCI/SPUR gallery. I like the detail because, if you look at the dolls laying around, you can see ones based on stands from throughout the series. You can see Star Platinum lovingly nestling into Caeser’s ear, and Stone Free trying to get away from her father’s embarrassing behavior in the upper right corner.

I like this picture mostly because of Kira’s face. He looks so matter of fact, being Kira and all, so he looks like he’s trying to represent this world where all the stands are messing around for a business venture. This would be a good place to open a shop, after all.

This comes from the Part 2 gallery and is where things get really interesting. The early Part sets each contain a few character drawings done in modern Araki style in line with that some of these were pulled form art exhibits and art books. The modern style Pillar Men are the draw. It makes them look so much more stoic.

The hub for all those galleries is here.

If you’d like something less focused, there’s also this big collection gallery of Araki throughout the years including the art outside of JoJo’s. Some of them are repeats from the other gallery set, like this above one of Jotaro in an outfit that was used for an ASB costume, but there are a lot of clean versions of covers that are very cool. Also, it contains the best picture of Cars.

At least until I find a .gif of the anime version.

You can see that gallery here.

See, Link, You’ve Actually Been Talking to My Stand

On days when there isn’t a lot of big news going around, I tend to dig around on Naver for any goodies. That’s how I ended up learning about ASB League and some others as well. This may not be traditional news, but I’m pretty sure it’s something worth talking about. You remember that card with all the “Whatever Artist Style Titan Character” with the Araki style Irwin?

Yeah, apparently drawing things in the Araki style is a Twitter thing, and I’ve stumbled onto a big collection of them via Naver Matome. This is the Araki style reveal of Sheik as Princess Zelda towards the end of Ocarina of Time, and damn does it look like it would have gone different. I don’t know that you could capture this Zelda in a pink crystal at a distance with magic, but considering how tough she looks, I can only tremble at the idea of the Araki Ganon.

This is the Araki Edward Elric. I assume that the Araki Alphonse would be at least somewhat gem encrusted and in some way gilded. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the lack of jewelry, I’d think this was just a lost design draft for Giorno. [Edit: And now that I take the time to try and read it, that’s probably on purpose. His first line, “Kono Edward Elric wa ototo ga iru/I, Edward Elric, have a little brother” is a direct parody of Giorno’s “Kono Giorno Giovana wa yume ga aru/I, Giorno Giovana, have a dream.”] Actually, I’d want to put him into Part 4 because, converting alchemy to stand, his power is somewhat the opposite of Josuke’s. It would be called “Blinded with Science.”

Then you start getting to the weird ones.

Like the Araki Anpanman.

And the Araki Freeza

Now that’s an alternate costume I can get behind. I’m just gonna leave you to stew on that picture and give you the link to the whole collection.
