See, now this is a form of Ragyo grabbing someone we can all get behind.

Everyone gets to do something cool. If there’s a character you like, they probably did something great in this episode.

Self taken again. That’s why Daisuki’s watermark. That said, there are actually a few more pictures that this. 22 total, and that’s not even half the ones I wanted to. But you can see the whole set over in this Imgur album I accidentally called Episode 22.

Kill la Kill Episode 22 “Tell Me How You Feel” Teaser Images

I don’t understand how I feel about this show. After coming down from the hype, the little problems start to build, and I start getting down on it, but then they make an episode like this where the aesthetic is just on full force. Stop fucking with me Trigger! My anime fan heart is very fragile.

Anyway, I watched Daisuke’s German stream to get these images, hence their watermark. All you need to know is that everything wonderful is contained within that last picture. Trust me.

Kill la Kill Episode 20 “Far From the Maddening Crowd” Teaser Images

Oh God the face

I want to say Aikurou, but I could see Sanageyama

And everything is now right with the world

You think Goori’s upside-down or just has an overhang?

Oh, I want to show the last image of this set so very much, but it’s a little too heavy for a teaser. This is something you’ll want to see in the episode. Like I said, the warning stands ’till the end of the show.

You can see the rest at Garethbale.

Kill la Kill Episode 18 “People Rushing to the Night” 30 Second PV

However this goes down, I’m happy that it’s going down at all. Ryuko has a themantic reason to beat down on both Satsuki and Nui, but man do I want to see this brawl. I really do hope it gets some meat and isn’t just this image with some flickering and then Nui wins or runs away or whatever. I would understand since Ragyo is on center stage with a chunk of her torso staining Satsuki’s sword, but still. To that end, our main character seems to be the odd man out this time. Her beef is with our resident dictator, but she’s got matricide to attend to. This episode has a lot of balls in the air, and I’m not just saying that because I expect Aikurou, Kinagase and Matarou to do a lot of jumping.

I Nominate Gamagoori Ira for Son of the Year!

I think everyone’s a little wrapped up in the Elite Four of Fabulous Dress. My favorite character* is in there, after all. Would you like to know a little more? They had some extra backstory packed in to one of the recent BDs, and it’s been translated courtesy of 2ch. Directly quoted:

“Sanageyama, Uzu”
His family runs a nationally famous Konnyaku business.
Immediate family consists of parents and older brother.
Since entering Honnoji academy as a three-star, he’s sending his school-provided expenses to 1000 North-Kanto Coalition members. (Umatemizu, Shinsuke is the current leader)
“Gamagoori, Ira”
His father has been missing since his birth. As a result, he was nurtured and raised by his uncle Gamagoori, Kenkichi, a steel fabricator in Yokosuka, Japan.
His father is an American soldier deployed to Yokosuka base, but a lot about him still remains a mystery. His mother is a nurse.
Growing up, he was a victim to bullying due to his mixed ethnicity. However, this changed when he was in 5th grade, as he pierced his ear after his uncle’s advice. (with it he changed his attitude)
His uncle designed the steel armor he used to challenge Satsuki in middle school days.
His uncle also designed a Titanium-based Haramaki that is more than 10 times as strong as the one he made 5 years prior, post-Tri city conquest.
He sends majority of his school-provided expenses to his mother.
“Jakuzure, Nonon”
Her family runs Jakuzure Transportation, a company under Kiryuin conglomerates, and is in charge of handling REVOCS merchandises’ distribution and shipping supplies to associated factories worldwide.
Satsuki in kindergarten was a very well-disciplined child who always behaved and was constantly smiling. Nonon found her uninteresting at the time.
However, Satsuki changed toward the end of kindergarten, and Nonon began wanting to be with her and hold her hands.
In grade school, Nonon stood out more than Satsuki and was the queen of the academy. However, while Satsuki was always found alone and quiet in the corner of the classroom, she was actually the one controlling the academy in the background.
Nonon originally entered a very prestigious middle school that was only open to the upper-class families. However, since Satsuki entered Rinnedo middle school in Kanagawa, she transferred to the same school.
“Inumuta, Houka”
Following Tri city conquest, he learns that Public Safety Bureau of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the Kiryuin conglomerates’ activities.
The deputy director of the Police Department is Houka’s father Inumuta, Akito.
His father has always been out of home since he was little, and his mother was dedicated to support the father-less house.
He developed his interest in computers when he was in grade school.
He’s been living alone since he entered middle school by illegaly overwriting his personal record stored in city authority’s servers.
He coded a program that automatically responds to emails his mother sends from time to time worrying about his living conditions.
In order to stop his father from further investigating Kiryuin conglomerates, Houka set up an embezzlement charge against him in an attempt to force him to resign from his deputy director’s position.
I used the title to praise Goori for sending away his expenses to his mother, but Sanageyama is also apparently a pretty stand up dude. Nonon is about how I would expect, but Inumuta is either a huge douche or a family savior in a particularly douchey way. At least for his father. His mom could probably use a call. Goori could teach him a thing or two.

*All mentions of “favorite character” come with the caveat of “Mako Mankanshoku not withstanding.”

Kill la Kill Episode 15 “Don’t Stop Me Now” Teaser Images

If last episode had “some stuff,” this episode has no paucity of stuff. Any one of the pictures up there is a point of conversation or more. Mako using the scissor sword vs. King Tutankoori. Any one of the matches, honestly. The new uniforms. I’m particularly enamored with Nonon surfing. The Nudist Beach Tactical Pants Weapon System. Crab Monster Man. And that’s not even all of it. I’m holding some of these pictures back because they’ll give away the ending, and I don’t know that I should.

You can see the rest at Garethbale. Oh, and this is supposed to be the big change episode, so my understanding is that the new OP will start next time on episode 16.

“Your mission will be to lead our troops and conquer all of Japan!”

“Is that understood, Rangers?”

“Yes! Madam Zordon!”

Satsuki Kiryuuin: Ruiner of Crazy Face Fun Time

Make this real. Make the phone case real, Trigger.

“Teaser” may be a bit of a misnomer, but it’s still fun. You can see the rest at Garethbale.
