Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: 7th Stand User English Version!

Over the course of the past 5 years or so, a group called NendoTairiku has been working on a massive Jojo’s fan game called Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: The 7th Stand user. As of a couple weeks ago, the game has been released in English thanks to the efforts of Super Bonk. I just picked it up. It’s definitely worth anyone’s time.

The game is basically a retelling of Stardust Crusaders, however you play as a new stand user who one day happens to meet Jotaro Kujo after he was released from prison. As the result of this you get caught up in their globetrotting adventure. You take a test to see what kind of stand you get, the combat is Etrian Odyssey style POV RPG combat, it’s pretty cool. And the sprite work is phenomenal.

So yeah that looks like it was ripped straight from the manga. This was a massibe project and the work really shows. Aside from the graphics looking fairly amazing, the game has 18 possible unique stands for you to choose, the game’s story actually does transcend the original manga as you will fight stand users from other parts, and the story has a total of 19 possible endings. Also, the game has some fantastic music with only a few hiccups. Here’s an example:

Definitely check the 7th stand user out. It’s fairly fun and it invokes some old RPG nostalgia with a jojo’s twist. You can download the game here.

Stardust Crusaders Official English Paperback Reissues Now Available!

Did you know that Viz sends us their press releases? I get one or two every few days about manga and books and licensed things. Never got anything about this. So, thanks for tipping me off, TZA Tumblr.

That image is from Viz’s twitter because they’re officially rerunning their paperback Stardust Crusaders! All 16 volumes are available for purchase online now. You can start with Vol. 1 either from Amazon, Barnes and Nobel, or RightStuf. At RightStuf it’s the cheapest at a little under $8, but they’re all at least under $9 a volume, so go for it!

I Can 「オラオラ」 with My Feet Now!

 

I feel like all the recent posts have followed this pattern: Do you remember the collaboration between Converse and Bandai that gave us the JoJo hightops? Actually, more appropriately, do you remember the announced Jotaro Shoes? Well, it’s time to expand your shoe closet with a little product from Premium Bandai.

This is one of the most Jotaro things I’ve ever seen. The shoe is the classic blue, the top lace rings are stars, the back has the hand plate as a patch, the bottom of the shoes have Jotaro on one foot and Star Platinum on the other, it comes in that fancy box with them both, and if you look closely at the body of the shoe, it is patterned with 「オラ」 on any part that is blue except the laces and the toe cap. It’s a bit hard to see at a glance because they are the same color, but it’s clear on a good look.

The shoes are currently available for preorder from Premium Bandai and are going for ¥11,880. They come in sizes ranging from 22cm – 30cm, about a Ladies size 5 to a Mens size 15 in U.S. terms. You can even order it in a nice pink or green gift wrap for an extra ¥200. Be quick, though. The preorder period will close in one month on June 15th. The shoes are expected to launch in the latter third of December.

Star Platinum Gives Me the Precision to Hit Bullseye Every Time!

As with the suits, do you remember the JoJo brand dart fletching? I still consider it one of the weirder JoJo products in my time of looking up specifically weird  JoJo products, but it’s not so weird we can’t run with it and go even further. The first sets for Parts 1 and 2 were only the fletching. The Part 3 set have gotten all fancy and are the character print fletching, one for each of the 5 main party characters shown up to this point, with three darts made specially for each character’s stand. Each dart body is specially colored to the stand and each grip has both a unique shape and the name of the stand printed on it. (Jotaro, Kakyoin, Polnareff, Abdul, Joseph)

The character packs with 3 complete darts will be ¥2,400 each and are supposed to launch towards the end of May. You can keep up with them here from Still Alive.
