It’s Not About Hairstyles. It’s About Dedication to the Costume.

There was a big post ASB Launch event back on the 1st. The event was held at Yoshimoto Mugendai Hall and was just an excuse to sit back and have some fun with the fandom. There were even stage events including a big, cosplay photo shoot. Someone was nice enough to post those images, and it’s cool to see what costumes are being pulled out. You have your normal main character costumes, but there are some costumes pulled from places I wouldn’t have guessed.

The guy dressed as Pucci? That’s his actual hair. It’s not make-up or an effect. He actually shaved his hair into that shape. The Jotaro guy is dressed up to be with the Part 3 guys, but since they had him around, they pulled him in.

Santana was not expected in that outfit. Or at all. I guess if you were expecting Santana, you’d probably have to expect him in that outfit, but the Joseph there was apparently not ready for the big diaper man and couldn’t not laugh.

This was the first one that caught me by surprise, and it’s the biggest one. The people are posing by part, so that guy in the center has to be an SBR character, but I couldn’t remember him by his outfit. That’s actually someone cosplaying Dr. Ferdinand, user of Scary Monsters. He’s the one responsible for turning Diego into everyone’s favorite Dinosaur Cowboy. Not bad.

So, how do you feel about the new live action Iggy? Boston Terriers actually do have the big ears like that, but it might have been hard and possibly dangerous to train one to eat gum, so this guy’s going the extra mile. I really like the solidarity between the guy who’s Alessi and the guy who’s Death 13? Can’t use your scythe out here? Don’t worry buddy! I’ll let you borrow my murdering axe.

There’s a lot of cool details going on in this picture. The Josuke and Okuyasu reading manga like in the commercials, the Harvest guy holding up a giant 100 yen coin, the Rohan with the Heaven’s Door puppet, the Highway Star guy even putting the checkering tape over his face. This is cool. I think that guy with the fishing pole is supposed to be Toyohiro Kanedaichi, user of Super Fly. I don’t totally recognize him, but getting a radio tower inside the hall would probably be pretty hard, so it’s cool.

Double Narancia Fury! Anyone who cosplays Diavolo gets praise just for making his weird mesh shirt thing. The guy playing one of the Pistols is also fun. I like the glasses he used to make their unique eyes.

I wonder if Josuke is so pissed because he doesn’t et to be the center stage Josuke this time. JoJolion Josuke gets to pose with the Part 4 guys because he’d be by himself otherwise.

Is anyone else uncomfortable with the axe wielding maniac being behind anyone?

JoJo Vol. 5 Blu-ray Box, Disc, and Mousepad Art

Posted in JoJo's Year, Text Articles with tags , , , , , , , , on 2013/04/29 by OnePixelJumpMan

https://i0.wp.com/i.imgur.com/fmzkzmHl.jpgThe art isn’t out by the anime twitter or the official site, but like usual, someone, this time in the JoJo anime thread, managed to sneak a picture of the box set out. This will be the box set with episodes 13 through 15 on it. Like all the box sets, it comes with a bonus item rolled in. It was Leicht Verwendbar for Vol. 4, but we’re out of new soundtracks for the moment, so this time it’s that little Pillar Men Relief mousepad. A cute bonus, and maybe it can strike a conversation during office work or look judgmentally at you while you look up unscrupulous things on the internet. Wham would not approve of actions like that.

This set is due out May 31st.

Record Stores in Japan Must Use UV Lightbulbs

To celebrate and promote the Blu-ray releases on the 30th, Tower Records in Shinjuku is going to be holding an event. TOMMY, the singer of “Sono Chi no Sadame,” Kazuyuki Okitsu, voice of Johnathan Joestar, and Santana will be there.

Yes, if you ever wanted Santana to meet and eat you, all you need is a ticket to the event. Actually, according to the news post and the page, this statue went up today and the event will be held on release day; January 30th. That means that Santana here is going to be hanging around for a little over two weeks. I imagine that he’s cordoned off for the safety of visitors or maybe so that no one gets a hold of those stone masks for their evil purposes.

The detailing is really nice. I wonder if they’ll raffle it off or maybe make it a prize in JoJo Royale. Maybe the Stone Masks can come off and it can be a double prize.

Finally back on schedule. Episode 13 of JoJo’s has aired in Japan, and the subs should be out late this evening or early tomorrow morning. In the meantime, we have teaser images to keep us company. As always, you can find even more images from Yaraon Blog, but spoiler warning.

The Deadly “Ribs Blade” Attack with more stats

You can tell German science is the best science because of how many words they can fit on their grenades.

Looks like we’re in for another good episodes. I’m excited to see Stroheim getting into a fight since he hasn’t had the chance yet. Then again, I’m just excited to see more Stroheim ever and especially now that his hat’s coming off so we can get an eyeful of that awesome hair.

But hey, maybe Stroheim isn’t your thing, in which case I don’t even understand you at all. However, there are other things to look forward to in Episode 14.

Episode 13 “JoJo vs. The Ultimate Lifeform” Preview Images and Synopsis

Posted in JoJo's Year, Text Articles with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on 2012/12/25 by OnePixelJumpMan

Merry Christmas, everyone. Hope everyone is having a good time at home out of the cold and got a good haul of presents. There’s one more to add to the pile. Even though Episode 13, “JoJo vs. The Ultimate Lifeform,” won’t be airing until next week, the preview pictures and synopsis are timely as always.

That look on Joseph’s face is just beautiful, and I know what’s going on in the last picture because of the manga, but it looks like Santana found some spotlights and just couldn’t help but strike a pose. Maybe that’s why Speedwagon’s making that face.

The synopsis is doing the fight teasing thing. It’s all about Santana being above the power of even vampires and how will Joseph ever defeat him when the Pillar Man regenerative powers are too much for even the ripple to handle. It’s shaping up to be good, and the fight with Santana is pretty fun considering the high levels of Stroheim and Speedwagon.

We’ve also got another new addition to the team. Yasuhiro Minami will be working with main series director Kenichi Suzuki on this episode. I swear I saw that name earlier in the series, but I don’t see him looking through the credits now. He was a storyboarder and the episode director for Gear Fighter Dendoh and Turn A Gundam, and those were good shows. Anyone who can capture the silly but awesome nature of a show like Dendoh and also sometimes Turn A is all right to direct a JoJo’s episode.

“Pillar Man” Teaser Shots and USB Drives

Who’s ready for Episode 12 of JoJo’s?

Come on! Look how excited Stroheim is.

Yaraon has released their preview images. As usual, just a few picks. You can see the rest at their site with spoiler warnings.

Any opportunity to show this picture is a good one.

It even comes as a .gif

And if that wasn’t enough Santana for you, the Twitter has released that a malleable USB Santana modeled on him going through the air ducts will come as a bonus with the Volume 8 Blu-ray.

I’m not one much for figures, but the opportunity to have your little rubber USB man in a school or work setting might just be worth the reactions.

Hips Forward; Shoulders Back: Pillar Men Anime Designs

Looks like that Ultra Jump with the cast contained more than the tweet said. Luckily, someone was nice enough to dig this up.

Yes, we now have the official anime designs for the Pillar Men with their cast listed right along the images. In order, it’s Santana, Cars, Wham, and ACDC. The designs are solid, a lot of shirtless muscular men like I’d expect from the Pillar Men. Santana gets to show off the most of his body since he’s not ranked high enough to get really fancy where Wham is so fabulous he gets a unicorn horn because he’s fucking Wham.

With that, I think we have the major Battle Tendency character designs out of the way. I don’t imagine there will be a special showing for characters like Loggins, Messina, and Wired Beck since there weren’t ones for characters like Dire, Straights, and Tonpeti. But do you really need them? We’ve got a man with a unicorn horn and another who wears a Middle Easter style headdress without a shirt. I think we’re pretty good.

Men of the Pillar Men: More JoJo’s Cast Revealed

Posted in JoJo's Year, Text Articles with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on 2012/12/18 by OnePixelJumpMan

According to a tweet, Ultra Jump released a few more names for the JoJo’s The Animation cast in their latest issue. Then another tweet came around right after that and told us what it said.

That one contains the new cast listing for all the Pillar Men. We already knew about Akio Otsuka being Wham from the last cast reveal, but now we’ve got the whole ancient, evil demigod figure voice set.

  • Cars: Kazuhiko Inoue (Naruto as Hayate Kakashi, Cyborg 009 as Joe Shimamura, Super Robot Wars as Hwang Yan Long)
  • ACDC: Keiji Fujiwara (Aquarion EVOL as Zen Fudo, Fullmetal Alchemist as Maes Hughes, Hajime no Ippo as Tatsuya Kimura)
  • Santana: Kenji Nomura (Metroid: Other M as Anthony Higgs, Eyeshield 21 as Makoto Otawara, One Piece as Kuromarimo)

Another Super Robot Wars alum to add to the list. I’m most excited about Keiji Fujiwara. I have a soft spot for ACDC because he does one of the more ridiculous thing in Part 2, and Zen Fudo was most of everything valuable about EVOL because of how absurd he and everything he did was. I expect some great things when ACDC shows up, but then again, I expect great things whenever there’s a new episode of JoJo’s.
