JoJo products are fun and numerous. I try not to talk about all of them because this would be a blog about cups and underwear, but there are plenty of products that catch my attention like the Seiko watches. Those caught my attention because they were cool.

And this catches my attention because I think it’s funny. These little Phantom Blood plaques/picture frames are going to be released by Medicos Entertainment as prizes in ¥300 capsule machines across Japan. I’m not sure if you’d be able to use a Japanese purchase service like Japan-Life to go around looking for them. I like these because they look like ornate picture frames you’d have on your mantle of pictures of your family. Considering they’re a figure, you probably can’t take the image out, but I’d love to be able to and put in pictures of maybe cosplayers or just have your pet dog be the new Speedwagon. Might want to keep that away from the Dio plaque, though.

Episode 25 “Birth of the Ultimate Lifeform” Preview Images and Synopsis

And Cars, who fell to Earth as a nearly invincible superman, has become a truly invincible living god to whom certain human or even pillar men things may now be useless. Joseph employs the Commandeered Nazi Airplane variant on Joestar Ultimate Secret Technique to buy enough time to figure out how to beat the unbeatable. Cars is in hot pursuit. What is Joseph going to do?!

I think the animation is important in this episode. One Director and Storyboarder, Kenichi Suzuki, and one screenwriter, tokusatsu lady Yasuko Kobayashi. The normal amounts for those jobs, but not one, not two, but a whopping five animation directors! Tatsuya Shirashi, Manabu Akita, Shinichi Machida, Kyoko Kotani, and Ryo Kobayashi. Every single one is a previous staff on the show working with animation direction. I guess when it’s Piranha o’Clock, you have to bring in the cavalry.

Episode 24 “The Ties that Bind JOJO” Preview Images and Synopsis

Betrayal! Cars’s devious tricks have left Lisa Lisa on the verge of death. Now she literally hangs in the balance depending on what Joseph does, and Cars is using it to wear him down physically and mentally. As the battle reaches it’s climax, Speedwagon reveals the secret past ties between Joseph and Lisa Lisa because of the desperation of the moment. Oh, and Stroheim’s around with UV spotlights plugged into some of his ports, so he’s probably helping out.

Good staff this time around. Yasuko Kobayashi the Sentai Lady returns as screen writer, Animation Direction by Kenji Yokoyama and Hotani Yukitoshi, both of whom have done excellent work so far with JoJo’s, and the only newcomer on both Storyboard and Direction: Satoshi Osedo. Osedo’s a weird pick for a show like JoJo’s from what I see in his credits. Kobayashi made a lot of sense to me because she’s a sentai writer and JoJo’s is so flashy, but Osedo’s mostly done cutesy shojou stuff, not really the high style action stuff. Then again, JoJo’s is really pretty, so maybe it makes sense.

All in all, though, it’s still fun. A bunch of old comrades and enemies coming together for one last gathering before the gods of old rise up to destroy humanity with their perfect bodies. Good times. Good times.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure The Abridged Series Part 1: Phantom Blood Coming Soon!

It’s happening. It’s happening soon. I don’t know when soon is, but it’s happening at that time which is soon holy crap. We all knew it would be happening deep down, but the confirmation is like Super Christmas where Dio is Santa and he brought you a stand for your birthday. If that didn’t make any sense, it’s only because I’m super hyped, and you should be too.

Duwang 7. Just download it now. This one is pretty jam packed with good lines, and it’s hard to pick just one winner. So I didn’t.

JoJo Blu-Ray Volume 2 Changes and Improvements

Ready for a few more changes? It gets shiner and more violent as we go on. Someone on Nico Video was cool enough to upload a comparison video between the original broadcast and the episodes on Vol. 2, episodes 4, 5, and 6. You’ll need to follow the link because it’s visible through Polsy and I can’t embedded it, but here’s a few quick shots I grabbed.

Most of the changes are in the censorship, like with Jack the Ripper coming out of the horse, or tuning up, but the Wine Ripple Cutter looks like they just redid the whole clip for how much more attractive it looks. I know it’s mostly particle effects and shininess, but it’s so dull in the TV version. It’s incredible how the comparison looks so much better.

It’s been a while, so have a handful of DUWANG. I didn’t believe it at first either, but we’ve got the sub of kings back. Maybe that Trendies Combattive sub set isn’t that far off after all.

I Got My Degree in Just Two Months at Speedwagon Academy: A JJBA Dating Sim Setting Update

Nothing like a Valentine’s Day gift from my favorite people; People on the internet I’ve never actually met but have a tenuous connection to because they’re making a thing I’m interested in and wrote about once. The JJBA Dating Sim blog has released a first draft of their potential game setting. I’ll just quote it directly from their post.

Welcome to the Speedwagon Academy for Gifted Youths! You, BANANAS23, are here because you have exhibited impressive talents. As is probably more than obvious, only the most special of students are admitted here. That is to say of course, those with great strength and vigor! With honor and courage the likes of which the world has never seen before!

If something administrative exists in the JoJo Universe, it does have to be owned by Speedwagon. Maybe he started funding high schools in his twilight years to encourage the relationships he never had himself.

A man who just screams School Principal

Bananas23 replaces the BLANK for character name. Remember that we’re going to be playing ourselves living out our fantasies of wooing a particular JoJo protagonist. Hmm. If the Jotaro track is written particularly well, this game might get popular with Shoko Nakagawa.

And of course, those with a series of amazing abilities. You see, every student here is either a Ripple user, or a Stand user, of course you know what those things are. You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t, after all!

Fair enough. I think it’s reasonable to assume that everyone interested in the game will be a JoJo’s fan coming in. That said, I like the idea of introducing someone to JoJo’s via this game. I can see it now: “Hmm, this sim’s interesting enough. I like this guy with the hat. A little stern, but cute enou- Where did that blue, Aztec Tarzan come from? Why is it pummeling me?!”

While all of our students are certainly something to be proud of, we boast full attendance of the Joestar family lineage, certainly some of the best Ripple and Stand users of our time! Lucky for you, they will be your guides as you get acquainted with our academy.

I’ve said before that might knowledge of dating sims is limited almost entirely to an LP of Hatoful Boyfriend. I imagine that this will work in some similar ways such as that there will be a class or extracurricular something or other that will correspond to each character you can date. Something like you’d join the Horseback Riding Club to get closer to Johnny or the Sewing Club to better understand Jolyne. Joining Music Appreciation will be how you get the secret ending where you start dating Hirohiko Araki.

Now then, even you must want to know more about them!

Well, you do have my attention. I have plenty of more questions, and those are mostly about the characters themselves like you say. What are they going to look like, how are their tracks going to progress, things like that. Luckily, we shouldn’t be waiting long on that because they’ve said that character profiles will be coming out soon. Look forward to it.
