“Jolyne, Fly High with Gucci” Presented in English

Who out there is patiently waiting on the JoJo one-shot “Jolyne, Fly High with Gucci” to be picked up and scanlated? Well, interesting thing about that. There may not need to be a scanlation considering what Gucci’s putting on their Facebook.

Sorry if that’s a little hard to read after shrinking to fit. It’s a small blurb about Araki working with Gucci Designer and Creative Director Frida Giannini to create the story and art. The most important part though is the part at the bottom about reading the full manga in SPUR, Gucci Magazines, and Gucci’s Facebook page this month. It looks like Gucci was so happy with Araki’s work it’s going to get an official English translation in their print and digital magazine.

It’s awesome because we haven’t had an official JoJo’s translation since Viz was releasing Stardust Crusaders, and they stopped doing that. So go get it. Find out where you can buy a copy of their magazine and hope that it shows the English market for JoJo’s and isn’t misinterpreted as nerds starting to get really into fashion.

Jolyne’s Modeling Adventure feat. Passione

Well, since it looks like Episode 13 is going to be delayed for the holidays until January 4th (it’s the fifth one down), we’re just going to have to hunker down and enjoy our JoJo’s some other way. A self described “quick and dirty” scan for the next JoJolion is up if you feel up to continuing to untangle that web of mysteries. If not, you can always make due with a little Jolyne Fashion Show brought to you by Gucci.

All of these little design images came out with the one-shot Jolyne Fly to Gucci. You can see a few scans here. I wonder if Hirohiko Araki considers these designs a break considering some of the really elaborate costumes he’s done in the past. He does these an amazing justice, but don’t think that just Jolyne gets to have fun being fancy.

Part of the one-shot includes Jolyne running into a few of the Passione boys during her trip. Gucci doesn’t just design for women, and if Araki’s writing about Italy anyway I guess. It’s nice to see Bruno and Abbachio. Polpo also makes an appearance up and walking around.
